Last-Minute Mother's Day Ideas

It's getting down to the wire, and you might be busy running your business so that you may not have noticed. The calendar says Mother's Day is just a few days away (in case you did not notice the increase in business in recent days). If you are one of those people who just loses track of time and it seems that special days surprise you, and you have a mother who lives too far away to visit, then we are here to help.
And since we have shipping supplies for virtually any item you would want to ship to your mother, we'd like to help you with some last-minute gift ideas to put in the package, along with our packing supplies (because, of course, you would use us!).
Here is a list of the most popular Mother's Day gifts:
- Flowers. Always a good stand-by. If you are shipping them, you can work through a network that can ensure your flowers are delivered by a flower shop close to where your mother lives, so they will be as fresh as possible.
- Candles. Most women appreciate candles. They do come in their own boxes, usually, but some are encased in fragile glass, so it's always best to have them packed securely when shipping them - never want the candle being jostled around in the shipping box, or they might get damaged. After all, wax is not metal.
- Gift card. Not highly recommended unless you are down to the very last minute, or unless your mom specifically asks for one. These are easy to pack inside a Mother's Day card without adding any postage.
- Gift basket. Could be a nice idea, if you know that your mom likes several things and can find them all in one place. If you're not careful, this might say, "I know you like something in this theme, but I don't know what exactly, so I'm covering myself." These can be tricky to package effectively, depending on the contents of the basket.
- Home spa treatment. A less-expensive version of a full spa treatment, it's a good gift for someone who enjoys these things (it can be an acquired taste). Don't know how many moms would want to do the work of their own spa treatment instead of being spoiled by professionals, but it is a nice thought and sentiment. Fairly easy to package and ship.
- Home. No, not a house - things for the home, like new curtains, or throw pillows or a nice winter blanket. If it is something handmade, it can mean an awful lot to your mom, as could something personalized with a monogram or favorite saying or Bible verse. With home items, the little details make the difference.
- Candy. A temporary gift, if your mom has a sweet tooth - but if you know her favorite kind of candy and company (Ghirardelli, See's, Whitman's, etc.), it is very thoughtful. And easy to be packaged!
- Plants or seeds. If your mom has a "green thumb," she might like having something new in her garden. Plants can be tricky to ship, however, so it's probably best to send her seeds.
- Perfume. Who does not want to smell good? Sometimes it's tricky, though, to know your mom's favorite perfume, but if you do know (and she does not have a boyfriend/husband to provide it for her), then bonus points for you.
- Massage and spa treatment. Many moms are spending their time being wives and moms that they often don't take care of themselves. Help them out by providing this for them; in fact, go ahead and make the appointment if you can so she doesn't make excuses for not taking advantage.
