If you ship packages regularly, there are several things you should own to ship your packages, one of these items includes shipping scales. There are several different sized scales from a few pounds to 100, all of which are going to save you time and money in the long run. Regular trips to the post office can be costly and time consuming - waiting in long lines can add up to hours a month, just to get your package shipped. Many regular shippers and business owners have figured out that 1) it's really not that difficult to ship things on your own and 2) it really does save a ton of time and money! So where do you begin when learning how to ship from home? Right here!

Here are a few things you will need to start sending out your own shipments right from the comfort of your couch:

Scales: You can accurately weigh items that you are shipping without worrying if the person behind the counter was too busy to notice their pen leaning against the scale or even if there are problems with the machine they use hundreds of times a day. There are all different sized scales available depending on what you are shipping, just make sure that you add five pounds to what you normally ship in case you have one of those larger shipments to send every once and a while.

Labels: Almost all printers have a label printing option, so starting your home shipping process is as easy as setting up your printer and opening a shipping program on your computer via the USPS or UPS. Labels, especially in bulk are inexpensive and a pack will last you a long time.

Boxes and Packing Materials: You are almost ready to start shipping, size out the boxes you need and buy in bulk! The same thing goes for packing materials and tape - don't skimp on these items and don't buy retail!
