Most people who ship items regularly have had to learn the hard that using cheap and low quality products usually cost more in the end. Saving money on packing and shipping is possible, thanks to companies who take pride in their products - this reliability keeps customers coming back for more and increases word of mouth advertising - the best kind!
So how should you pack certain products that are to shipped and what should you spend your hard earned money on? Here are a few top tips to keep your shipments safe and your customers satisfied:
Breakables: When it comes to glass items ad fragile pieces, always double wrap! First, wrap each piece separately - most people think it is ok to just wrap everything together and if it is tight enough, it won't break, wrong! Make sure that each piece is wrapped in some sort of thick paper and taped up, then use large bubble wrap in between each piece AND surrounding the the inside of the entire box.
Boxes: Use a thick, quality box. No exceptions! The stress that your packages go through, from being thrown about to getting wet is hard on the shipment. Using a thicker box will eliminate any worry that your items will fall through the box or get crushed.
Tape it twice: Wear and tear is another unavoidable process of shipping and double taping your package ensures that your shipment will arrive without breaking open. No matter how well you pack your box and how thick your box is, if it is not taped properly, then it won't matter!
Label ALL over: Last, but not least, LABEL! Whether it is "fragile" or "breakable", write in big, clear letters on each side of the box. I can not stress this enough! Shipment boxes are almost always stacked on top of each other, making it difficult to read, so always label your box on every side.
